Canyon Road Edible Art Tour
Santa Fe, NM – June 15, 2019 - Visitors can immerse themselves in art during Canyon Road's annual Spring Art Festival on Friday & Saturday, May 6th & 7th. Formerly called Passport to the Arts, the event features exceptional exhibits, artist receptions, and art demonstrations that will take place on the iconic road - long hailed as one of the premier art destinations in the world.
The festival’s impressive array of alfresco events is headlined by the Artist Slow Draw on Saturday. Sixty Canyon Road gallery artists will set up their easels along the historic trail, and each will produce an original work of art in the span of five hours.
“The Canyon Road Spring Art Festival is a unique and exuberant event as it showcases the extraordinary talents of artists while they create LIVE ART in one exhilarating day, in one of the most exceptional art districts the world has known,” said Nancy Ouimet, Board Secretary of the Canyon Road Merchants Association. This is a rare opportunity for art lovers to be involved in the creative process of artwork they may soon add to their collection.
Advance previews of artists’ work will be held on Friday evening at many of the district’s 100 fine art galleries and sculpture gardens. Artists will be in attendance at receptions, and new exhibits by both established and emerging artists will be on display. Late night entertainment and dining are available at the road’s renowned restaurants.
