Canyon Road Paint and Sculpt Out 2019
1. ?What makes this event a “must” for art lovers?
The event recaptures what Canyon Road felt and looked like a century ago. Art Lovers get to experience not only a true art district but also a real, live art scene not often experienced!
The Canyon Road Paint and Sculpt Out is an annual event inviting the public to interact with working artists as they demonstrate how they create. Close to 100 artists, both gallery-represented and independent, will paint and sculpt in one of the nation’s largest artist demonstrations. October is a beautiful time of year not only in Santa Fe, but in particular on Canyon Road, where artists have been making their pilgrimage for years because of its unique quality of light.
2. What kind of art can visitors expect to encounter?
There will be something of everything Canyon Road has to offer on display. Painters will work on canvas, board, and paper, making abstract, figurative, landscape, and many other styles of art. They will work alongside sculptors of metal and clay, as well as jewelers, illustrators and many others. It is truly a sight that must be seen to be believed, and one can never be quite sure what they will find before they go.
Artists are often in their studios, not able to receive direct feedback from enthusiasts. Artists are attracted to the rare opportunity to interact with the Public.
October 18th will mark the beginning of the festivities with numerous artist receptions, art talks, food and music in the evening. October 19th is the main event as artists and thousands of enthusiasts come together for the day-long artist demonstration as they enjoy music from Santa Fe Public School Music Program.
